MOVING ON AFTER A ‘NO OFFER’ FEEDBACK

Most times, having done all you could do, you may not get an offer. The employer usually

sends a “No offer letter” to convey their regrets. It is the most demoralizing letter a job

seeker can receive. If this happens to you, do not be hard on yourself, it is part of life and
career development. However, a no offer feedback is not the end of your life, but a

challenge to try harder and better. It may be the end of the road for that opening and all
the efforts you put in, but there will be several other openings and opportunities to come.

Wait for them! A ‘no offer’ letter means it is time to move on, a time to explore other
               openings and opportunities.

As it is often said, ‘when one road closes, other ones open.’ Every dark cloud has a silver
lining. Do not let one closed road blind your eyes to new opportunities. Be positive! Your

response to the temporary defeat could be a choice to stall and writhe in pain or a choice
to stand and rise above the dark clouds. You may not be able to choose what happens to

your job application, but you can choose your response to its outcome. Failing an
interview or missing a job offer is an opportunity to rethink your methods, review your

approach and reconsider your stand on paid employment. You may wish to start

something on your own by embracing entrepreneurship. Losing an anticipated
employment can be painful, but the pain itself is a useful tool that can reveal your

strengths and awake the giant within you. There is gain in every pain, so they say.

A ‘no offer letter’ may be an opportunity for you to reflect and ask: "What can I do for

myself? What can I do with my life? Or what can I make happen?" Instead of crying over
spilled milk, it may be the time to proffer answers to these questions; a time to do a

serious soul searching and make life changing decisions. There is something you can do,
a problem you can solve, and a skill you can use to earn income. Sit and think it through!

What abilities can you turn into money? For a quick check:

                • If you can drive, you can start a taxi business or register with Uber taxi or Taxify

                • If you can trade (buying and selling), you can start commodities supply business
