or make further requests. At one time, I called back to ask if I could recommend a friend
when they told me the qualifications they wanted, and I knew I did not have it. I told
them of someone who had it, and gladly, they accepted her nomination. You do not know
what that call can do for you. Please, always ensure you get back to your interviewers to
say thank you and ask what is next. It is a wise thing to do. Even if you are not given an
offer, just smile, be calm and courageous to still say thank you for the opportunity and an
expected kind considerations next time. That is courtesy!
If they select you, congratulations! The next thing to do is a thank you note to the
organization and confirm the date of your resumption. They may ask you to come for
proper documentation and signing of the offer letter. Go with originals of your
documents for sighting and the documentation process if required. Before that date, find
out where and when they would want you to come for your fitness/medical test if
applicable. Do not forget to put on a good impression on your first day in office. They will
issue you a file or an employment number. Photocopies of your documents and offer
letter will be in your file. Get to your unit, meet your supervisor and colleagues. Someone
will show you around. Ask questions, be warm and respectful. You now have an
opportunity to show the organization what you can offer, go ahead and do it excellently.
