SUBPROGRAMME: HANSARD SERVICES

Hansard Services for this period included the recording, transcrip on and publica on of the unrevised
and final revised record of proceedings of all 24 si ngs of the House within the s pulated me frame
and in accordance with the SLA.

SUBPROGRAMME: SERJEANT-AT-ARMS

Precinct Management
The SLA between the WCPP and Department of Transport and Public Works (DTPW) was signed on
12 October 2021. This was signed a er months of delibera ons between the WCPP and DTPW. The
Serjeant-at-Arms unit is now responsible to ensure that the meframes and applicable clauses are
reached by due date. For this purpose a maintenance schedule forms part of the SLA for tracking
purposes.

The MoU with the Department of Community Safety (DoCS) makes provision for providing
comprehensive security support at parliamentary ac vi es, including at public educa on and
outreach ac vi es. During the period under review, the DoCS provided security support at a number
of external visits and public hearings, including the State of the Province Address, which was held in
Velddrif during February 2022.

Occupa onal health and safety
During the period under review the Occupa onal Health and Safety Commi ee was responsible for
the issuance of Personal Protec ve Equipment and also con nued to do regular OHS Inspec ons in
the building.

Na onal Key Point (NKP) ma ers
The new entrance design for 7 Wale Street was completed in January 2022. The new entrance
provides for a smoother transi on into the building, whilst s ll maintaining the requisite entrance
control procedures. Security in the Queen Victoria Garage entrance was also improved with a new
baggage scanner, X-ray machine and metal detector installed.
