Page 12 - FOUNDATIONS FOR LIFE; EXPLORING GOD’S UNIVERSE
P. 12
Ask if the children know the name of our prime minister.
5. Jesus one day will take his people to his capital city in heaven where there will be no
gates or guards like many of the places in London.
6. Let the children complete the worksheet or complete a collage of some of London’s
famous sites. They could, alternatively, write about a day in London.
Learning for Life (Fulfilment)
1. The children should be familiar with London’s famous sites.
2. They should recognise that God is King of kings and that one day all His children shall
be with him in heaven.
PRAYING FOR OUR LEADERS
Truth to Teach (Source)
1 Timothy 2:2 Pray … ‘for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful
and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.’
Romans 13:4 Leaders are God’s servants to do us good.
God has delegated authority to governments and we are commanded to pray for them.
God’s heart is for people to rule righteously and with compassion.
Rulers need wisdom to discern what is right and the courage to do it.
Way to Work (Means)
1. Talk about Paul telling Timothy as a young man to pray for his leaders.
2. Talk about leaders the children know, eg teachers, parents, Sunday School leaders.
Extend their thinking to leaders of our nation.
3. Discuss how we could pray for them: -
