ISSUE 3 | DEC 2020
Dear Parents,
Highlights from a busy half term and outlines of exciting developments at Abberley Hall...
What a term this has been! It feels a very long time ago that we arrived and started to explore the grounds, buildings and surrounding countryside. Although we have been with you for just one term, we have quickly settled in and have loved getting to know pupils, staff and parents. As I have said many times, Abberley is a special place and we feel very lucky to be a part of it. Our sincere thanks go to you all for helping us to ‘find out feet’, for offering us such a warm welcome and for being so supportive.
It has been a challenging term for many reasons. Covid has been a worry and a frustration for us all but I have been delighted with the way that we have worked together to ensure that our children have been able to continue enjoying so much of what the school can offer. We have worked hard to cement our relationship with Malvern College and we have seen already that this partnership brings us great strength in an uncertain time, without it diminishing the unique Abberley Experience that you all know and love. We have been researching and beginning to implement some exciting developments at Abberley and I will outline some of these towards the end of this Newsletter.
As our social media pages have shown, the term has been action packed. The attitude in the Staff Room has been one of Blitz Spirit and my thanks go to all of our wonderful staff for ‘going the extra mile’ and ensuring that the experience for our pupils has been as rich as possible at this difficult time. I wrote in October with an overview of the first half of term and I have pleasure in looking back over some of the highlights from November and December.
I wish parents, pupils and staff a very happy Christmas and every blessing for the New Year. I cannot wait to see what 2021 brings and I have every faith that it will be a year where we can all enjoy seeing Abberley Hall going from strength to strength.
Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2021,
Jonnie Besley
