                        Smokey Baked beans



                                         Ingredients


               10 bacon slice or 1 package bacon (12oz)
               1 large onion chopped
               1 small jalapeno pepper chopped
               1 tbsp minced garlic
               1 cup Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce or Catsup
               6 tbsp dark brown sugar
               1/8 cup cane syrup or Molasses
               3 tbsp cider vinegar
               1 tsp salt
               2 tsp dry mustard
               1 28oz can pork & beans (Bush’s original with liquid)
               2 16 oz can kidney beans (drained)
               2 16 oz can small Butter Beans drained

                                         Lagniappe


                Fry up the bacon in a heavy skillet until crisp, remove from skillet and set
               aside to drain

               In the same skillet, add the onion, and cook about 5-7 minutes or until they
               are translucent

               Add the jalapeno the last 2-3 minutes

               Add the spices, vinegar, BBQ sauce, sugar and the bacon or brisket or a meat
               of your choice.

               Bring to a simmer and transfer to your smoker

               Smoke at 225 for about 2 hours, stirring frequently to incorporate the smoke
