Gas grill boys
Smokey bbq beans
Ingredients
6 slices bacon 3 tbsp white vinegar
½ lb ground beef or brisket 1 tbsp honey (or karo dark syurp)
½ lb Pork sausage 1 tbsp garlic granules
2- (16 oz) cans Busch’s Baked Beans (with liquid) (Or 2 tbsp honey garlic sauce)
1-(16 oz) can navy beans (drained) 2 tbsp sweet & sour sauce
1 tsp onion powder
1-(16 oz) can kidney beans (drained) 1 tsp garlic salt
¾ cup ketchup 1 tsp ground mustard
¾ cup brown sugar 1 tsp Worcestershire
Lagniappe
Fry the bacon pieces in a large skillet until crisp, remove from the skillet and
set aside. Crumble the ground beef and sausage (I like Jimmy Dean) into the
skillet and cook until no longer pink, then drain and transfer the meat and
bacon to a slow cooker.
Pour the canned beans, ketchup, brown sugar, and vinegar into the cooker.
Add the honey, garlic, sweet & sour sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and the
remaining seasonings. Cook on high for about an hour.
NOTE: add 1 tbsp of liquid smoke if you are “not” going to finish in a
smoker.
Real Smoked Beans
Transfer the beans to a baking pan and place in your smoker
Smoke for about 1 hour at 250 leaving the pan uncovered.
Stir the beans two or three times to incorporate the smoke
