UP AND AWARE - 8

                        Exercise and Discuss:
If you had to decide between watching television

and going out with your friends, how would you
make that decision? Or, if you had to choose
between staying back after school to help the
Student Council make posters for the bulletin board

or go home and sleep, what would you choose to do?
How would you make that decision?

There are three ways in which we make our decisions.

No Decision — Letting others decide what you must do

Quick Decision — A quick choice you make without thinking about the result at all

Responsible Decision — Thinking of others (not only me) and your future (not only
now) when you make a decision

For each one of the above, think of one thing you will do and the reason for picking it.
For example, you let your parents choose your clothes (no decision) because you are not

particularly interested in how you dress.

You lie to your friend when he/she asks if you have returned his/her book (quick decision)
because you think he has no value for books and can afford to buy another book.

You never miss cricket practice (responsible decision) because you are part of a team and

you want your team to win the next match.

                Do this exercise by yourself.
