Make a note of the following:

1. Contents of garbage (plastic bottles, aluminium foil, wrappers, etc.):

2. Which item is the most common in the garbage?

3. Can any of the items be recycled? (Remember, recyclable items like paper,

cans, glass bottles, need to be separated or they are likely to end up in
a landfill.)

4. Does your school recycle these items?

5. If yes, how does it do so? If no, how can it do so?

6. How can all the learners in the school reduce their carbon footprint? How will
you help them learn to reduce their carbon footprint?

Share with the class.

One way of reducing your carbon footprint is by planting trees and plants.

Trees give out oxygen that living beings need to breathe in and take in the
carbon dioxide that human beings breathe out.

One large tree can produce a day’s supply of oxygen for four people!
