Let us read some facts about the continent of Africa:
• The population of Africa is unbelievably diverse. It is made up of a
number of tribes and people belonging to many social and ethnic
groups. There are approximately 3,000 tribes/groups in Africa and
about 2100 languages are spoken in this continent.
• The people of Africa have more physical variations than that of any
other continent.
• The pygmies, shortest humans in the world, live in Africa. The average
man is 1.45 m (4.34 feet) and the average woman is usually
1.33 m (4 feet) tall.
• On the other hand, some Sudanese and Maasai tribes are among the
tallest people in the world.
• The people of the Wodaabe tribe do not name their children until they
reach the age of twelve years.
