Day 3: "A Seed of Doubt"

Scene:
The sun is setting over New-nesia, casting long shadows across the city’s towering buildings. Javi walks
through a quieter part of the city, trying to shake off the lingering thoughts from his encounter with
Abigaile and Gelia. He can’t stop thinking about them—their fear, their determination to survive. He
knows it won’t be long before the government catches up to them if they aren’t careful. His hand drifts
to his holstered gun, a weapon that has taken countless lives, yet somehow he couldn’t bring himself
to use it on them.
As he passes by an abandoned marketplace, he spots Gelia sitting on the steps of an old building, her
eyes scanning the area nervously. Javi hesitates but then walks over to her. She stands as soon as she
notices him, her body tense with anxiety. Abigaile is nowhere to be seen.

Gelia: (cautious)
"Why are you here? Did you change your mind?"

Javi: (shaking his head)
"No. I’m not here to arrest you. I... just needed to talk."

Gelia stares at him for a moment, her eyes still filled with distrust, but she nods and sits back down.
Javi sits beside her, both of them looking out at the quiet, empty street.

Javi: (after a pause)
"Where’s Abigaile?"

Gelia: (quietly)
"She’s hiding, like she should be. I told her not to come out today."
Javi: (sighs)
"Good. It’s safer that way."

The silence stretches between them for a moment. Javi feels the weight of unspoken words pressing
down on him.

Javi: (hesitant, unsure how to start)
"I’ve been thinking… about what you said yesterday."
