Nan Prior Jubell
Nan Prior Jubell was a leader for both her daughters in the West
Geauga Unit. She was also cookie chairman for the unit. Her major
contribution to the Lake Erie Girl Scout Council was her work with
many committees of Council. Although quiet when she spoke,
all listened. Her words could either settle an argument, come up
with a much better idea or smooth over ruffed feelings. She never
hesitated to put in as much time and effort as needed for the girls
and the council she believed in. Her contributions were many and
varied. Nan was a true Girl Scout through and through.

Bertha Lovelace

For many years, Bertha “Bert” Lovelace was my Chief Nurse
Anesthetist and later the frst Anesthesia Institute Director of
Nursing at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital.  She had a quiet style of
leadership and was a great role model.  She inspired me to look at
problems differently and to consider a broader viewpoint.  She was
very practical in her approach and used her work resources wisely.
No one envied her role as it was less than glamorous, but she
continued to work quietly, behind the scenes to promote issues
that were important to her and her nurses.  She was appointed
to the Ohio Board of Nursing by the governor in 1999 and later
became President of the board.  Her many roles required her
experience and her generous offer to serve others.  She is a trusted
friend.

Cathy Miller

Friends and family of Cathy Miller want to honor her for giving many
years to Girl Scouting. Even though she has no children of her own,
through the years many girls have been able to go camping, go on
trips and make forever friendships due to Cathy’s dedication. Day
Camps, Silly Olympics and Christmas Programs have been close to
Cathy’s heart. Living the Girl Scout Law has been Cathy’s motto.
