Susan Allen

We lost Susan to cancer in 2005, but not before she had
shared her vision of broadening the horizons of hundreds of
girls. Through her international travel group, girls went far and
wide to experience new cultures, new scenes, new foods and
new people to love for over 15 years. She was a dear friend, who
believed in people and their goodness. How we miss her.

Martha Barber

Martha was a very special Girl Scout and friend. She cared
deeply about people and was never too tired or sick to extend
a helping hand to those in need. She never lost her belief in
the magic of girl scouting -- the magic of caring and sharing…
learning and growing...excitement and fun...and friendships
silver and gold. Martha followed the voice of her heart.

Pauline L. Beamer

My mother, Pauline Beamer, was my Brownie and Junior
leader. She had two troops in the early 1950s along with
Evelyn Schladen. Mom has told me of the diffculties they had
establishing a troop in Girard. They recruited girls through the
schools and churches and were often met with resistance.
