Barbara Calstrom
Barbara Carlestrom came to the Girl Scouts after retiring
from a career in management with the Federal Reserve
Bank. Her computer skills were extensive and her expertise
was greatly appreciated at GSLEC. She used those skills
to support many projects such as the Something Special
Adult Recognition Events, the council shop, cookie sales and
camping. She scanned camp photos and produced CDs of
Gold Award programs. She established a computer lab in the
back room of the offce and held training classes for the staff
to update their computer skills. She was always the frst to
volunteer for projects, generally did more than her job required
and often took work home with her. Because of the councils’
merger Babs retired from her paid position as a staff member
and then became a full time volunteer and SUD.

Joyce V. Crofoot
Joyce Crofoot was a loyal leader and supporter of GSUSA in
every facet/level. She loved her girls, gave good safe instructions
to develop a skill to lead them forward to adulthood. She was
ever optimistic, a joyful adventurer always -- but could not
conquer her “Lou Gehrig’s” disease. Joyce died in May of this
one hundredth year of scouting.
