The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is an
annual hot air balloon event that takes place in
early October 1972 in Albuquerque, New Mexico,
The Balloon Fiesta began. It was the world's first hot
air balloon event. In February Albuquerque hosted
the first World Hot-Air Balloon Championships, and
the fiesta became an international event.
