Grade team, which won the Premiership, were the following: G. Pearson, L.
Haylock, and II. Percival. Also in the “C” Grade, we had the following: A.
McKell, R. Gwynne, and D. Rowlingson. In the eight stone football team, we
were represented by the following: R. Goostrey, J. O’Neil and Bruce Slater.
In the inter-house athletics carnival there were the following com
petitors: G. Pearson, D. Heck, R. Gwynne, H. Percival. A. McKell and R.
Dalzell. Most of the other members ran in their respective qualifying races.
This year Four “B” has two representatives in the Q.S.S.S.S.A.
In the cricket this year there is A. McKell who is in the “B” Grade
team, and R. Price who is in the “A” Grade team.
The best swimmers of the class are A. Hoy, D. Farley, M. Ferguson.
and Ralph Gwynne.
It is generally though that Four “B” is not the brightest class in the
school, but it is worth mentioning that most of us try to do the right thing
well.
FORM 4C - -
Form Teacher: Mr. Kingsbury (succeeding Miss Pigram now in England).
Form Captains: L. Blaney; D. Jackson (succeeding R. Close).
Oustanding Athlete: L. Hillier (School Open Champion).
This year there is the biggest and best 4C that the school has ever
known. The honour of getting top place in the Term Examinations went to
Barbara Ralph who felt the strain too severe and left us to join the Com
monwealth Public Service.
4C is well represented in all fields of sport having L. Hillier. L. Gibbs
and E. Phillips as our runners. 12 girls in ball games, two in tennis teams,
and several in swimming, diving and life-saving, notably J. Coulter (under 15
swimming champion).
Our class consists of a large number of hard working students, who
have talents of their own. In the boys there are numbers of potentials. Mal.
Bunney is Captain of the School’s “A” Grade tennis team, while Errol Perry
and Des. Whitaker are very promising tennis players. John Newfong also
plays tennis, and shines in French. Barry Mossop, and David Jackson are the
class high jumpers. Ray Huet plays cricket. John Pyle and David Jackson
played football for the school, and one of the boys managed to come in the
first 50 in the annual cross-country race.
Despite numbers 4C has managed to keep a high standard of beauty
and brains. The art class is well aware of the Beauty in our class as their
sketches of our model. Miss Grant, will testify. The brains (we hope) will
show when the Junior Results come out.
4C extends thanks to all teachers and the best of luck to everyone in
coming examination.
