A guided tour of Norwich and a free afternoonYour holiday begins in the cathedral city of Norwich, the historic capital of Norfolk, where we meet the Tour Manager at our hotel. After checking in, you%u2019re free to familiarise yourself with the city. On Day 2, we set out on a walking tour of Norwich%u2019s Old Town to learn more about the city%u2019s fascinating history. Dominated by its magnificent Anglo-Norman cathedral, Norwich%u2019s streets and open squares reveal museums, medieval churches and public gardens. This afternoon is a chance to discover more of Norwich at leisure. Day 3. The Mid-Norfolk Railway and a Norfolk Broads cruiseWe enjoy a heritage railway excursion today. In Dereham, we join the Mid-Norfolk Railway* for a journey through the countryside to the market town of Wymondham. From here our coach takes us to Aylsham, an unspoilt market town where we board the Bure Valley Railway*. This delightful line follows the River Bure passing meadows and villages. In Wroxham, we transfer to Horning where we board a Mississippi paddle boat and cruise along the Norfolk Broads, renowned for its wonderful landscapes and wildlife.Days 4-5. North Norfolk Railway, Sandringham & homeward boundA scenic rail journey awaits today, along the Bittern Line to Sheringham. Here, we join the North Norfolk Railway* for a steam-hauled journey to Holt. The railway is known as the %u2018Poppy Line%u2019 because of the blooms along the route during summer. We continue with a visit to Sandringham, the royal residence favoured by the late Queen Elizabeth II. There%u2019s time to explore the stunning house and its acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. On Day 5, your holiday draws to a close and we check out of our hotel.
