examine the policies:
(i) The surveyor is furnished with the policy copies
before proceeding on the survey. In very large
losses, he may proceed directly to the scene of
loss with only brief particulars , and later the
copies of the policy may be furnished to him.
(ii) The surveyor then should thoroughly examine
the policies to ascertain the scope of coverage,
the property covered, the exclusions, special
causes and warranties if applicable.
(iv) This familarisation in advance helps the
surveyor immensely, on inspection of the scene
of loss, to identify the property and compare it
with the actual character and location of the
property, to verify whether they amount to
misrepresentation.
Q6. Role of a surveyor at the time of inspection
of the scene of loss.
Ans. There are several steps a surveyor has to follow during
inspection of loss:
(i) The surveyor should inspect the premises
