(v) Machineries following fire, explosion, flood, storm
or other peril may be subject to further damage
due to rust, clogging by stock in process or
breakage. The surveyor suggests whether they have
to removed to a place of safety or covered with
tarpaulin, tar paper or timber to prevent further
damage.
(vi) He suggests that the machineries which were
operational at the time of loss, since would be filled
with stock in process, the stocks should be promptly
removed, the machines should be cleaned, wiped
as dry as possible and greased further to prevent
rusting.
Q7. Role of surveyor to find the cause of loss.
Ans. There are several steps a surveyor has to follow to find
the cause of loss:
(i) An important cause of survey is to determine the
cause of loss. A thorough examination at by the
surveyor at an early stage of undisturbed salvage
