4.2 Household’s income

According to the study, 16,235 BDT is the average monthly income of the households. As per the
data, people of Meherpur earn BDT 18,611.80 /- every month, which is highest in other areas. Though
Dhaka is the Capital City of Bangladesh, people earn only BDT 15,000/- on average.

4.3 Household’s Expenditure

According to the study, 39.96% of the total expense of household income goes for Food, followed
by house, medical bills, education and other necessary purpose.

4.4 Households’ Health Insurance Status

To identify households’ health seeking behaviour and expectations, it is important to know
households’ health insurance status and experience besides the heath service related experience mentioned
in the above sections. Therefore, households’ health insurance related information i.e., health insurance
coverage, health insurance cost, perception towards health insurance costs, etc., have been presented
below in some sub-themes.
