4.5 Households’ Health Seeking Behaviour and Expectations
To identify households’ health seeking behaviour and expectations, households’ expectations
regarding disease coverage, health service coverage, treatment cost affordability, visiting hours, etc. have
been presented below in some sub-themes.
I. Households’ Expectations Regarding Disease Coverage 230 out of 441 respondents provided information
on their health seeking behaviour and disease coverage expectations. Among them, 140 were from
Dhaka, 76 from Tangail, and 14 from Meherpur. Respondents expressed expectations for coverage
of various diseases, including COVID-19, pregnancy-related issues, general medical conditions like
fever and flu, diarrhoea, dengue, respiratory problems, and more. Additionally, Dhaka households
desired coverage for nausea, hepatitis, and rheumatic diseases, while Tangail households emphasized
measles/hum, pox, eye, dental, malaria, and mental health-related issues.
