the reader's knowledge about a particular topic. By
presenting detailed and in-depth information, the
writer hopes to expand the reader's understanding.
The information presented is not only based on facts

manner. For example, in an expository text about the
latest technology in education, the writer will explain
various technological innovations and how these
technologies can be used to improve the teaching and
learning process. Thus, the reader not only gains new
information but also a better.
