• The asterisk denotes the adapted style, i.e., the consciously
displayed behavioral strategies.
INSIGHTS MDI® identifies more than 500 different combinations
of behavioral preferences and displays them on the positions of
the INSIGHTS MDI® wheel:
• If a position (dot or star) is on the outermost ring on the
wheel, then the candidate is a Major Type (1-8, i.e.
Motivator, Inspirator, etc.). This means that he has a
dominant preference (Red, Yellow, Green, Blue).
• If it is positioned on the second ring (focused, 9-24), then
its flexibility increases because it has two preferences
actively available.
• If its position is on the third ring (25-40), it has three
adjacent preferences. This gives it a high degree of
flexibility.
• If his position is on the fourth ring (flexible cross, 41-56),
then he is highly flexible, because he not only has three
preferences actively available, but also the contrasting color
to the main color (i.e. blue/yellow, red/green). The
advantage: The applicant can very easily adapt different
behaviors and tasks.
• With a position on the fifth ring (crossing, 57-60), he has
two preferences available, but always two opposite
preferences. He is also equipped with a high flexibility.
Of course, you cannot always have your interview partners
answer the INSIGHTS MDI® questionnaire that will give you
detailed results about their personality structure. In the case of a
job applicant or a co-worker whom you see every day, it may be
