CORE Construction
HASSAYAMPA ACADEMIC VILLAGE AT
ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY
The Hassayampa Academic Village project, built for Arizona State University,
included the new construction of a six-story 550,000 square foot student
residence hall located on the main campus of Arizona State University in Tempe,
Arizona. The facility houses undergraduate students in 1,800 apartment units.
The resident hall was constructed on a foundation of drilled concrete caissons
and a concrete structural frame. A concrete masonry unit block and stucco
exterior and built-up roof completed the construction. The project also featured
classroom and study areas, lobbies, a food court, and computer science
laboratories. The student residence hall achieved LEED Silver Certification for
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design from the U.S. Green Building
Council for innovative design, natural daylighting, and efficient storm water
management. Due to CORE’s higher education building efforts, the Hassayampa
Academic Village now provides a world-class dormitory for the freshman
students attending Arizona State University.
