INWARD TRANSFORMATION
continuously spoken. That is why Paul told Timothy
to affirm repeatedly the things he was teaching him.
Lawyers try to get people to change their
testimony. The testimony that is cross-examined and
continuously affirmed is the one that stands. The
same is true in our lives.
Let us consider this cross-examination in two
ways:
1. The accuser of the brethren will try to get us to
recant our testimony. He spreads seeds of doubt in
our hearts and wants us to speak against what we
believe Christ has done in our lives. We must ignore
our feelings, the pressure from others, and so on,
and hold fast to the Truth.
2. Our testimony must be examined in the light of
the Cross and continuously affirmed by us. We must
stick with repeating the Truth about the Blood of
Jesus and everything the Word says it does on our
behalf. We overcome the devil by the blood of the
Lamb and the Word of our testimony.
“ for whoever is born of God overcomes the world,
4
and the victory that overcomes the world is our
faith. Who is it that overcomes the world, but the one
5
who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”

Paul to Titus, "This is a faithful saying, and these
things I want you constantly to affirm,…”
THE WORD IS NEAR YOU
Paul was trained in Judaism. He was an expert in
the law of God. Paul was not teaching the new
covenant believers something completely new here.
