REFORMATION OF THE MIND BY THE SPIRIT AND THE WORD
devote ourselves to affirm what God has said
continuously. We must not let the Truth depart from
our mouths. It will change our thinking.
It must be continuous to transform our thought-
life completely. That was why it says in Joshua 1:8
not to let the Word of God depart from your mouth.
That is why Paul said to affirm constantly.
This kind of commitment calls for the unity of our
hearts and our mouths. We exhibit our commitment
by disciplining our tongues. God gives us the power
to choose to think and speak what we should. He
honors our choice. The whole process is on display
as a testimony in our daily lives, moment-by-
moment, as we set our minds on things above and
speak as the oracles of God. Although it may seem
monotonous and overly simplistic, let’s outline the
equation for success in the things of God. First, the
basics:
Zero-commitment gets zero results.
Partial-commitment gets partial results.
Full-commitment gets full results.
“ 38 Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone
draws back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him.”
39 But we are not of those who draw back to
destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving
of the soul.” Hebrews 10:38-39
