principal or designee may consider extenuating circumstances in extending the
time limit.

Final Exams And Exam Exemption Policy

Stafford County Public Schools require that semester and final exams will be
given in grades 9-12. Students may be exempt from final exams under one of the
following conditions:

   1) The student has maintained an “A” average (93% or above) in a specific
       course for the entire school year and has not been suspended; or

   2) The student in grades 9-11 who has been absent from class less than two
       days, has not been suspended, and has maintained a “B” average (83% or
       above); or

   3) The student in grade 12 who has been absent from class less than three
       days, has not been suspended, and has maintained a “B” average (83% or
       above); or

   4) The student passed the END OF YEAR SOL test.*

Middle school students taking high school courses for credit will be entitled to
exemption options (1) or (2). Students who are enrolled in college-level courses
will be required to take final exams if required to earn college credit.
