Site Set Up

Every site set up is going to be different due to the location, environment, available space,
duration of the project and a host of other factors.
Issues to consider when setting up the site include:

  - The type of perimeter fencing/hoarding to use as per a Temporary Works Design

  - Adequate warning signage and Principal Contractor detail signage

  - Establishing safe access and egress points for pedestrians and traffic routes for mobile plant
     or vehicles

  - Appropriate positioning for site offices, welfare facilities and first aid supplies

  - Fire plan – appropriately placed fire points (complete with push button sounders and suitable
extinguishers), emergency escape signage, signed assembly points and smoking areas

  - Suitable lighting (internal and external). Light pollution to neighbouring properties must be
     prevented.
  - Storage areas for waste, materials and hazardous materials. Drains on site to be identified
     and protected from potential pollution

  - Branding – Please ensure that large Co-op banners are not fixed to Heras fencing unless a
     design is in place
