That’s Crazy
how I would make sure the people who He had placed under my
watch would get paid. I did not want to ever fail God and His people
by not delivering.
I just was so hurt that the person I had chosen to marry had no
feelings or cared about my wellbeing. I did not know this person. We
had to hire an arbitrator to assist with the settlement and back-owed
taxes, another expense I could not afford.
We went to arbitration and crazy Leroy had hired a female black
sister for his attorney, I began to learn, lawyers' roles were very
antagonistic, she came in like a lion. She also wanted me to agree to
what crazy Leroy had requested, so Kenneth and she went back and
forth, and I sat back and let them just battle it out. Crazy Leroy added
another twist and in the middle of the arbitrations, he began to act as
his attorney, and began arguing with Kenneth.
He wanted me to be fully responsible for the back-owed taxes
since he made less money than I did. I could not believe my ears, that’s
when I could hear my college sister-friend, Ms. Baseball, saying, "You
can no longer date or look at men with names on their shirts." I had
to laugh because I have always been attracted to men in uniform. You
see, it does always go back to childhood. My sister's friend, Jewel,
made me understand the "Daddy's Girl" syndrome in her book,
"Desperation is like Perfume.” It is true; I have always been attracted to
the chocolate men in uniforms.
