That’s Crazy
I was so grateful for Christine opening her heart and home to me
and providing the nurturing I needed as I decided what I would do
with my life.
The pre-trial came and we had to go meet with the judge to see if
we could finally agree on the divorce. Crazy Leroy was still trying to
take the balance from the settlement of the house and making me
responsible for the entire balance of $18,000 on the taxes owed. We
arrived at the courthouse and had a female judge. She could see that I
was visibly upset with this whole thing. I was just so hurt, this man
wanted to see me financially drained, and he would have never
received half of what he had if it had not been for me. The judge tried
to get crazy Leroy to see that MD divorce law is based on community
property. He could not walk away with the complete balance of the
settlement of the house.
He finally had no choice but to agree. Now we had to go back
and forth with the taxes. I had explained to the judge I had been
making the payment through the business and there was no longer any
business. Kenneth had brought our taxes for the past three years and
started questioning crazy Leroy about his income. It hit hard for me
when Kenneth began to break down what he brought in and what he
paid out and it was nowhere close to what I had paid. He was trying
to make the fool realize that he benefited well on my behalf and he
did not have a problem signing the tax refunds when we were getting
paid. He also signed the tax returns where we owed as well.
