partner Jerome, and we became like brothers. I had Jerome’s back and
he had my back.
After being with TLM for six months, Sara realized her time was
short, so she released me from TLM. That kind of worked out fine,
because Jerome hired me at IT Solutions, and we continued to market
CGS. Giselle eventually left TLM and went with the contract and the
new company named METS. METS was owned by a brother from
Texas and he seemed cool.
From the beginning, I told Giselle she should be upfront with
METS owner, Michael, about having her own business. I believed we
could go into a partnership since he was headquartered in TX. He
agreed and she began to find office space and she opened and
established his satellite office in MD. She was able to convince him
that we could assist both companies to succeed in marketing to the
Federal government. Especially, since he had a connection with the
Bush Administration. Giselle was always capitalizing on opportunities;
she was a great soft saleswoman.
It was an ideal situation; we had trained a crew to manage the
contract Giselle brought from TLM, so when CGS received its first
contract, Giselle would go to CGS full time. We had also agreed that
once the contract with METS expired, we would then try to flip the
contract to CGS, with CGS being the prime contractor and METS
would become a subcontractor. We had office space and did not feel
like we had to sneak like at TLM.
