CDM
To comply with CDM Regulations and support the site Health
and Safety Plan, method statements will be provided for
each site activity covering the following elements:
Design Work in confined spaces
Procurement, delivery and storage Hot work, such as cutting and welding
Resourcing Working at height
Works by others Access to lifts
Installation Working on Low voltage electrical equipment
Testing and Commissioning
The method statements will be written to suit the requirements
of the main contract programme and the working procedures
of other trades. Risk Assessments will be prepared for each
activity to compliment the method statements. Design Risk
Assessments will be prepared, as appropriate, to ensure
that all systems are safe in use.
Permit to Work system (PTW)
The Comserve PTW system is a formal process through
36 which high risk activities are monitored and controlled
through a process of physical signature and also form part
of a Safe System of Work (SSoW). The PTW system identifies
the hazards and the specific precautions to be taken to
control the risks. The PTW system only allows work to begin
after safe procedures have been defined and satisfied.
The PTW system forms part of an overall SSoW framework
and will be introduced for all activities where the potential
risk is high and if risks cannot be eliminated. Comserve will
operate a PTW system covering the following medium/high
risk activities:
