3.2 Overtime Pay Procedures
Nonexempt employees are eligible for overtime pay, which will be paid in accordance to state and federal regulations.
Your supervisor must approve overtime in advance. Your supervisor will provide you with advanced notice to perform
overtime if necessary; however, this may not always be the case such as in an emergency situation.
Exempt employees are not eligible for overtime pay.
3.3 On-Call Hours
Employees may be asked to return to work after leaving the premises due to an emergency situation or property disaster.
You are paid when you physically go to the property on an emergency call during non-business hours. Employees
(maintenance) will be given an on-call time sheet from their Supervisors and are responsible for recording and submit-
ting the date, time, and reason for the call, as well as having the resident sign the form upon completion.
3.4 Termination
Upon separation with Hercules you will be paid for “actual hours” worked during your last week of employment.
Earned and unused vacation will be paid or not paid.
3.5 Wage Assignments
When court-ordered deductions such as garnishments, and liens, etc. are to be taken from an employees paycheck, you
will be notified immediately. Deductions will be taken as ordered. It is the employees responsibility to obtain any
changes from the appropriate agency to cease a court-order received and present it to the Payroll department in a timely
manner.
3.6 Deductions from Paychecks
Hercules is required by law to make certain deductions from your paycheck each time one is prepared. Among these are
your federal, state and local income taxes and your contribution to Social Security as required by law. These deductions
will be itemized on your check stub. The amount of the deductions may depend on your earnings and on the information
you furnish on your W-4 form regarding the number of dependents or exemptions you claim. Any change in name, ad-
dress, telephone number, marital status or number of exemptions must be reported to Human Resources or Payroll im-
mediately.
