monitor your performance as well, making sure you understand what you are responsible for and also making sure that
you are the right fit for the position. If, during this period, your work habits, attitude, attendance or performance do not
meet our standards, we may release you. An employee in their introductory period may be discharged without any warn-
ings if it is the decision of management that they are not the best suited in their new role.
A former employee who has been rehired after a separation from Hercules will be subject to a new Introductory Period
during their first ninety (90) days following rehire.
*The company reserves the right to make employment decisions concluding the introductory period based on perfor-
mance or other reasons related to job responsibilities or employment.
2.4 Anniversary Date
The first day you report to work is your "official" anniversary date. Your anniversary date is used to compute various
conditions and benefits described in this Manual.
2.5 Job Description
We maintain a job description for each position at Hercules. Upon hire you were given a detailed job description to re-
view and give your acknowledgement. If you wish to see your job description at any time, please contact your Manager
or Human Resources. The company reserves the right to add additional roles and responsibilities to any position and the
job description is not exclusive of all assignments or duties you may be required to perform.
2.6 Work Schedule
The normal workweek consists of five (5) days, eight (8) hours long (some properties have weekend hours) Monday
through Friday. Your Supervisor will give your schedule of daily work hours to you. You will be notified promptly
whenever a change is necessary. Schedules may change, based on the needs of the business. Should you have any ques-
tions concerning your work schedule, please ask your Supervisor. Overtime work may be necessary as business dictates.
2.7 Business Hours
At most properties, the hours of operation on-site are from 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday—Friday and Saturday 10:00am to
5:00pm. HUD operated properties are operated Monday—Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. The Corporate Office's regular
operating hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Lunch periods will be determined and assigned by your Supervisor or department head. You are required to take one (1)
unpaid lunch period daily that is at least 30 minutes. Please understand that you may not "work through lunch" in order
to arrive late or to leave early or to work extra time.
2.8 Personnel Files
Hercules, maintains personnel files for all of its employees and affiliates. These files contain information related to your
employment with the company which may include, new hire paperwork, beneficiary information, performance evalua-
tions, training certifications, coaching and discipline forms and acknowledgements of commendation. If you are inter-
ested in viewing your personnel file, please make an appointment with the human resources department 24 hours in ad-
vance. Files must remain directly in the human resources office when viewing. Only active employees are able to view
files upon request.
In an effort to make sure we have the most up-to-date information for you, please make sure you notify the human re-
sources department in writing, as soon as possible, regarding any changes you may have for your address, home phone,
change in tax status, etc.
