2.9 Driver's License & Driving Record
Employees whose work requires operation of a motor vehicle must present and maintain a valid driver's license for the
State in which the property is located and a driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier. You may be asked to sub-
mit a copy of your driving record to Hercules from time-to-time. Any changes in your driving record must be reported
to Human Resources immediately. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Hercules will retrieve and review driver’s license status annually.
2.10 Outside Employment
If you are employed by Hercules in a full-time position, we will expect that your position here is your primary employ-
ment. Any outside activity must not interfere with your ability to properly perform your job duties at Hercules or con-
flict with the best interests of Hercules.
If Hercules determines that an employee’s outside work interferes with performance or the ability to meet the require-
ments of Hercules as they are modified from time-to-time, the employee may be asked to terminate the outside employ-
ment if he or she wishes to remain employed with the company.
Outside employment that constitutes a conflict of interest is prohibited. Employees may not receive any income or mate-
rial gain from individuals outside Hercules for materials produced or services rendered while performing their jobs.
2.11 Termination of Employment
Employees desiring to terminate their employment relationship with the Company are urged to notify the Company at
least two (2) weeks in advance of their intended termination. Such notice should be given in writing to your supervisor
and manager. Proper notice allows the Company sufficient time to calculate all accrued overtime (if applicable) as well
as other moneys to which you may be entitled and to include such moneys in your final paycheck. Without proper no-
tice, however, you may have to wait until after the end of the next normal pay period to receive such payments. As well,
without 2 weeks notice, the company will not pay out accrued vacation time. (Sick time is never paid out to any employ-
ee). Bonuses will not be paid to employees who are not an active employee at the time the bonuses are distributed.
As mentioned elsewhere in this Handbook, all employment relationships with the Company are on an at-will basis.
Thus, although the Company hopes that our relationships with employees are long term and mutually rewarding, the
Company reserves the right to terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice.
Exit interviews with the Human Resources Department are normally scheduled for outgoing employees after a supervi-
sor receives notice of resignation or intent to retire. The purposes of these interviews are to review eligibility for benefit
continuation and conversion, and to provide employees with an opportunity to discuss their job-related experiences. Suf-
ficient notice of resignation given to the Human Resources Department allows the company to make arrangements for an
exit interview to take place.
