Page 10 - A MEASURE OF FAITH
P. 10

And if we turn our attention and focus inward such actions will only encourage
more disappointment and in the long run one can only arrive at the conclusion

that our belief system is flawed and we are not better off than the rest.

The only way we can attain such faith is by sole reliance on God. It is from him
we get our faith from and he alone allots and gives it to us. (2 Pet. 1:1)

Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who through the
righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ have received a faith as

               precious as ours.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer love, but Christ lives in me. The
life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave

                                 (Gal. 2:20)
               himself for me.
Those who are followers of the Way we have come to conclude that our faith
only resides on the lord Jesus Christ and that faith is found in none other than

               Christ himself.

The real source of strength for the Christian comes straight from the Son of God

and when we acknowledge this and totally depend on him by believing and
trusting in him we will know that the faith we now enjoy is not our own. This
type of faith comes through Christ and not from us.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy
set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right
hand of the throne of God. (Heb. 12:2)

In summery we now get to understand the origin of our faith. That it is Christ
who is the author of faith and he alone perfects it and brings it to completion.
Jesus Christ is the chief architect of faith.

In him we see the designer the author the maker the perfector and the finisher of
faith and in Christ alone is our faith made complete. Christ will finish that which
he began from the very beginning.

What we’ve come to understand from this discussion is that by our own self
effort none of us is capable of originating his/her faith it is a gift from above. It

comes from the Son of God who is the author and finisher of faith.
