Page 15 - A MEASURE OF FAITH
P. 15

As we walk this life of faith God uses certain things to test our belief system and
strengthen our understanding of him. These three things are difficulties trials and

               persecution.

For us to fully mature and develop in any area of our faith in the lord we need to
be purged through the burning crucible so as to get rid of impurities just as a

gold or silver smith puts such metals into the refinery and burns away dross.

The bible tells us that God must and will test the substance that makes up our

faith in him through the process of trials difficulties and persecution. Without any
of us facing obstacles and challenges in our walk with the lord we end up being
lazy in the faith and most probably lack any kind of consistency in life when
               things become too comfortable.

In such times what will bring us out of slumber are trials and tests both of which
are the perfect opportunity to prove the quality of our character. In hard times
what we need most is for us to build capacity and consistency in the things of

               God

We need to attain spiritual fortitude and foresight and this will help us develop

our faith muscle in times when we need faith to increase especially through
tough times when what we believe about God ourselves and others is put to the
               test.

Hard times come to strengthen our faith in the lord and none of us should take
such moments lightly. These are times when our faith grows and we face trials
with bold determination and as such we learn a good lesson in dependence on

               God.

                   6. Faith trusts in a person not in an outcome.

It is a fact of life that when believers are facing difficulties disappointments and
derailment they suddenly get overwhelmed by life’s hardships.

In the most pressing of matters often when we pray our petitions go unanswered

and what we had or have placed our trust in fails to materialize and in such cases
we tend to depend or rely upon an expected outcome.

We fail to rely instead on the one who holds the keys to answered prayers but
when we are in the thick of life’s challenges will we choose to depend on the
one who has the power to make our dreams come true?
