asak River Basin...
Location of “Muang Si Thep” and “Muang Rat”
The Pasak River flows through to valley flats created geologically by the “Graben” land
subsidence. It is now the site of the “Pasak Jolasid Dam” royal project.
The dam is used as a multi-purpose reservoir as well as for flood prevention.
In the Pasak Basin, some signs of city walls and moats were found
in many places in the Sara Buri Delta, including Muang Si Thep (1), Muang Sap Champa (2),
Muang Phai Lom (3), and Muang Tha Wat (4). Evidence was found on the coastal areas
of the past estuaries in the Funan-Dvaravati Period and on the transport paths
from the Chao Phraya plain to the Korat plateau.
