What can I do to improve my condition?
Conventional western medicine focusses on the
neurons. This is necessary. It is the neurons of the
substantia nigra which are affected and if we do not
address them, the patient will not improve. Due to
this fact, all cases of Parkinson's disease should be
under the care of a neurologist.
Similar to the western medical approach,
Traditional Chinese medicine also focusses on the
neurons. However, they also focus on the support
cells and the ECM. They see these as
interdependent pieces of a much larger puzzle.
Where conventional medicine prescribes
pharmaceuticals to increase the level of function of
the neurons themselves, the approach of traditional
Chinese medicine is somewhat different.
