Chapter 16. Ask For The Business
Did you hear the story about the two salesmen that came back to the office after
a day of selling?
One salesman says to the other, “Boy, did I have a lot of good interviews today”
and the other salesman replies, “Yeah, I didn’t sell anything either.”
Have you ever had prospective customers come into your business and leave
without buying, but you know they will be back? Frustrating when they ultimately
do not come back, isn’t it? It’s even worse when you call them afterwards and
they give you some lame excuse for not wanting to buy right now.
Don’t get completely demoralized by it. Learn from it instead.
The most important thing you can do is to maintain a positive attitude.
Depending on your product or service, the Buying cycle for your average
customer may take longer than you would like.
You now know that with the right systems and tools, you can eventually convert
that prospect into a customer. The longer they wait to buy, the longer they will be
missing out on all the benefits your product/service has to offer them. Your
automatic follow-up system will remind them of that fact for you!
