We are not what we eat, but what we assimilate. We can eat super healthy, but if our
digestion is not running efficiently, our body will not be properly absorbing the
essential nutrients from the food we consume
Tips: Eat slowly and take pauses between each bite. This will ensure that all the required
digestive fluids are secreted and activated to optimally digest/breakdown the food. Also,
chewing slowly is important, as digestion starts in the mouth. Do not mix too many
different food groups at one meal (excluding veggies). This is because each macronutrient
requires specific digestive fluids/environments, and therefore may be interfered and halted
causing the fermentation of carbs or putrefaction of proteins that will cause gas & bloating
Try and eat a couple of portions of raw fruits and vegetables daily, as these contain the most
enzymes. Exogenous (outside) enzymes help digest your foods more efficiently without
depleting your endogenous (inside) reserves. When food is cooked at high levels, the heat
denatures and depletes the enzyme content. Also, try supplementing with enzymes before
each meal to help replenish low levels 42
Have at keast 2 servings of raw, uncooked fruits/veggies daily
