leader as perfect as Dhamma. Once the Lord Buddha left a clear message to Venerable
Ānanda in Mahāparinibbāna Sutta that: “Ānanda, for what I have taught and explained

to you as Dhamma and discipline will, at my passing, be your teacher.”
As the Dhamma is the master or the teacher of everyone, they charge the
morality not lesser than their lives. For a grate man or a leader should not break the
morality for the sake of his own happiness. Instead, he will sacrifice his life. Thus, in
Visuddhimagga mention that “Pātimokkham visodhento, Appeva jīvitan jahe, paññttan

lokanāthena, na bhinde sīlasamvaram.” As a leader who emphasizes about honesty,
he will not destroy the morality even he has to scarify his life.
The role of religious leadership was not only for general advocacy, but also
for specific responsibilities of conflict resolution. 100 A religious leader is a peacemaker,
who can teach such as how to love and compassion to the society to refrain from
violence. Sayardaw U Dhammapiya made a statement that: morality is a kind of a
human value which leads us to live in peace. 101
Buddhist theory of organizational leadership offers significant insights into
how individuals and organizations can effectively adapt to change not only at the
individual level, but also at the group and organizational levels. 102 No matter the size
of a group is small or large, there always must be a leader to lead. The president is the
leader of the country, organization and society and the parent is the leader of the family.
Family is a mini-society among the human society in accordance with Buddhist
perspective.
