2) Honoring the wife, children, and workers: Traditionally, Buddhist
believe that a good man starts from himself, by supporting his wife, children, workers,
and servant in home and company. Lord Buddha said to the being once in Miṅgalasutta
that “Service to mother and father, support of wife and sons, and straightforward work
this supreme good fortune.” 105 Some people might think that serving the wife and their
servant is derogatory in public. As matter of fact, this quality is the quality of
responsible for leader to help, support, lift people surround him. Helping is one of the
best actions will develop the society peacefully and happily.
3) Honoring the owners and neighboring: As one helping people surround
him to show and guide them to right way as a leader, it is also very important to gain
and get supporting from neighboring society, home, and country. Sometimes,
successful journey cannot go alone and need some support from other hands. If one
does not respect and honor the neighbor, how neighbor comes and help him as reflection
without any reason or any beneficial. Thus, this quality also important and useful for a
country or community to keep moving forward and achieving higher goal.
4) Honoring the oblation of the deities: This is the traditional event in
Buddhist. Most Buddhist misunderstood about respecting in and believe in deities.
Actually, respect and belief are dissimilar. For example, if the guests come and visit
home, the householder must treat them with food and drinking water altruistically. This
is called respect and honor not belief. Belief means believe in whatever someone or
deities said and ordered. In this case, the Buddhist honors the deities as a respect and
traditional duty in order to gain loving kindness and support from them spiritually help.
5) Honoring the ascetics and Brahmins: Respecting and esteeming the
wise men and teachers for the benefit of good advice and management. To be a good
leader must be a good student first. In the same way, invite the wise men and scholars
to receive some idea to grow up for the country. When Mahānāma: the chief of the
Licchavīkumāra saw his colleagues are silently sitting in front of the Lord Buddha
respectfully and humbly, he uttered this utterance “Bhavissanti Vajjī bhavissanti vajjī
