teachings, self-practice his policies to his followers and all beings for the welfare and
benefit of human, and Deva happiness. The Lord Buddha spend his time generously to
his followers by inspire and motivate them not to worry much about the leader who will
lead the Sangha organization even in the bed of his dead. As this sutta is the last sutta
of the Lord Buddha, the seven condition of welfare also one of the last admonishing in
this sutta how to maintain the organization properly and harmoniously. Therefore, the
seven conditions of welfare are as follow: 107
1) Holding Assembly regularly and frequently
2) Rising and braking up the meeting in concord, and carrying the business
in harmony
3) Maintaining the ancient institutions and not enacting and establishing
the new principle irrationally
4) Respecting and honoring the elder and taking care of them as a duty by
heart
5) Avoiding the indecent assaulting other’s wives and daughter in order to
develop the humility
6) Honoring, esteem and venerating the Shrine at home and country in
order to maintain the tradition
7) Providing with the proper needs for Arahant and wise men to stay safely
and happily in order to receive worth admonishing
These seven conditions are similar to the five strong functions that expressed
above. The five functions are about how to build trust and loving kindness among the
people, family, elder, and neighbor but the seven conditions of welfare play as the role
of harmonious community and can create a valuable organization for the long journey.
3.3 The Duties of the Leaders
This section mainly focusses on the duties of leaders or master basically
based on Singla Sutta in Dhiga Nikāya even there are numerous roles of leaders
mentioned in Buddhist scripture. The Singla Sutta is one of the teaching which can train
