giving orders like in a military. Because of the position and level, leaders usually forget
how to treat all alike openly like friends. This law is not easy to apply by treating all
alike with the cooperator. But a leader must act sometimes like a friend and sometimes
like parents with his colleagues to become close and possible to work harmoniously.
As a result, leaders can collect more information, listen to others ideas and prepare more
plans for the next situation and difficulties. This is called the law of communication.
These are the four basic principles of social integration (Saṇgaha Vatthu)
which are the keys to persuade and organize people harmoniously. Apparently, these
look very simple and not much more important. But these principles are very important
for every leader, even in a small family or mini-society. Some leaders are just good at
generosity, but rude at speech, offering for his own benefit, and proud himself as a
leader. In this matter, it is hard to become a successful leader. If they lack one of these,
it seems as a car without a brake it is hard to control and to achieve the destination.
Therefore, by learning these four principles, a great leader must be generous, speak
kindly words, serve for the benefit of cooperators, and finally participate with
colleagues actively.
3.2.2 Five strong functions of beloved leader of the people
Beside the researcher have describe above, there are Paññca-Dhamma in
Aṅguttara Nikāya, Licchavīkumāraka Sutta: which is explained by the Lord Buddha a
closest translated as five strong functions of beloved leader of the people as follow: 104
1) Honoring the parents: Especially, this sutta emphasizes on mental
quality for leader. As a great leader, the closet people around him is his parent. If leader
does not know how to honor and respect on his parent, he might not grow up in the
public as a good leader as traditional Buddhist believe. It is called gratitude on parents
as they take care and look after us until growing up. Some people lack of loving
kindness from parent since they were young. Thus, as a good clansman must train
himself the way to gratitude on his home first. From that, he will become successful
and grow up by venerating, respecting, and esteeming his own parents.
