If a student misses a shift without notice and without a sick leave certificate they will be charged

an administration fee. If you are unable to complete the student Work Scheme duty for which you
are rostered, you must make sure that you arrange a satisfactory swap prior to the Work Scheme
rostered time, and that you inform the Gen Rep that you have done so. Failure to complete your
duty or to complete the duty to the directed standard may result in the College issuing you with

an administration fee of $50.00. This fee may be waived for those students who can provide a
timely sick leave certificate. If a student misses more than two Work Scheme shifts in a single
semester, or more than three work scheme shifts in a single academic year without a compelling
reason, they will be required to meet with the Deputy Principal to discuss their ongoing

        membership of the College.

        Kitchen duty
For those allocated to Kitchen Work Scheme duties, you are to report to the Chef punctually at

the scheduled time. In line with Occupational Health and Safety requirements, you need to wear
closed-toed, non-slip shoes, long pants or jeans, and the provided hair nets. Please note that no
food is to be consumed in the kitchen during your duty. Please see the kitchen work scheme
        handbook for further information.

        Pantry/Kitchenette duty
Those allocated to Pantry Duty are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the

pantries. Report to the kitchen, sign in, pick up the plastic tub and collect all dirty crockery and
cutlery belonging to the kitchen. Students are expected to clean up after themselves and wash
any cutlery and crockery used. Students on Pantry Duty will then ensure any pantry items and
surfaces are cleared. Students allocated to Pantry Duty will also unstack the JCR dishwasher in the
morning and ensure it is stacked and turned on in the evening in addition to monitoring the

communal fridges. Please dispose of any out-of-date or mouldy food and notify the Deputy
Principal if extra cleaning is required. Pantries may be closed at the discretion of the floor’s Tutors
or the Facilities Manager if cleanliness is not maintained.
