1.2.2.1.3. Facilitate the learning process through active engagement in classroom
tasks and activities;
1.2.2.1.4. Develop students’ analytical and creative thinking skills through purposive
activities with focus on higher level thinking skills;
1.2.2.1.5. Design alternative and innovative models of teaching for all types of
students: regular, gifted and those with special needs;
1.2.2.1.6. Make oneself available for consultation, academic advising and other
relevant functions that help improve the students’ well-being;
1.2.2.1.7. Manifest a strong commitment to development of highly competent and
qualified graduates by constantly improving his craft;
1.2.2.1.8. Vary teaching methodologies and techniques in the pursuit of effective
teaching and learning process; and
1.2.2.1.9. Attend university affairs such as academic councils, commencement rites,
and other duly approved faculty and student activities and development
programs.
1.2.2.2. Research
Faculty members need to continually explore areas of inquiry through active
participation in research endeavors. They are expected to:
1.2.2.2.1. Participate in formulating the research agenda for the University and for the
College;
1.2.2.2.2. Generate research paradigms to enhance instruction in their field of
specialization;
1.2.2.2.3. Vigorously pursue a specific/ single area of research interest throughout their
professional career in the university for them to become experts in the area.
1.2.2.2.4. Encourage students to become creative, innovative and productive
researchers;
1.2.2.2.5. Study recently published papers on basic and applied researches, materials
development, feasibility studies, and others;
1.2.2.2.6. Participate actively in local and international conferences; and
1.2.2.2.7. Publish articles/monographs in recognized and refereed journals and
magazines.
1.2.2.2.8. Develop/ discover technologies, innovations, better systems and patent
them.
1.2.2.3. Extension
Faculty members are strongly encouraged to participate or to render service
either in College or University or sponsored community extension projects or in their
own community, sectoral and/or professional organizations. Faculty participation in
these activities is regarded as part of their professional and personal commitment to
the academic profession. To strengthen the University’s institutional linkages,
collaboration and networking, faculty members are encouraged to:
1.2.2.3.1 Conduct in-service training programs to teachers, school administrators and
other educators in both public and private sectors;
1.2.2.3.2 Contribute in strengthening institutional ties and network with other national
and international educational institutions;
1.2.2.3.3 Be involved in developing and implementing activities on literacy, political
education, environment education, multicultural and values education; and
1.2.2.3.4 Participate in extension programs aimed at developing and implementing
projects that help preserve indigenous cultures.
