4.4.6 Letter of sponsorship:

       Sponsorship is a financial support or help for an activity or
event, which is given by a patron. It is also the act of sponsoring
something or someone.

       A letter of sponsorship is the letter, which is sent if
someone wants to get a specific event to be sponsored by
someone else. This kind of letters looks for a business or
individuals to be involved in an event for realising a mutual
benefit between the two parties. It depends on building a
relationship with potential donors and approaches them like a
partner, including for instance an incentive for their support.

       Letters of sponsorship must be written in a way that can
convince the sponsor that the event is worth contributing. It
should also outline the benefits to the sponsor so that he can be
encouraged to take part in the event's sponsorship.
