be given recognition for their sponsorship. They can also be
asked how they prefer to be recognised in the event.
Therefore, the letter must precisely state the benefits that
will be achieved by the level of sponsorship. Benefits can include
for instance, advertising brochures and fliers about the company
or sponsorship, the company’s logo and slogan appearing on a
website and/or in any of the promotional programmes.
It should be also mentioned if the event will be
broadcasted or no. Furthermore, the number of attendees should
be mentioned, and if the event will include public figures,
celebrities, VIPs or no.
d- Determine the recipient's name:
A letters of sponsorship must not be addressed it to the
generic i.e. by writing "to whom it may concern" or "dear
sir/madam". These phrases make the letter seems sloppy and too
impersonal. Instead, the sponsorship letter must be targeted at the
right persons, and must include the correct spelling of their
names and designations.
Therefore, the right person can be for instance, the director
of the company’s human resources department, its manager or its
chief executive officer. If there is uncertainty about the right
person, a telephone call can be made to the company for
determining who can carry out the sponsorship.
