Grace Stations
Grace Station 6: Humility
The Scriptures point out in several places that humility is a
vital prerequisite for partaking in the grace of God. It is
often said that the way up is down. The meaning is that if
you want to go higher in God and His supply of grace into
your life, you have to go down, not just on your knees in
prayer, but with humility or lowliness of mind. James and
Peter, apostles of Jesus Christ, in their separate letters made
reference to humility as a virtue that God looks for before
He places His grace upon anyone.
Peter remarks,
“Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves
to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one
another, and be clothed with humility, for “God
resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty
hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time”
(1 Peter 5:5-6).
You will not find any person in the Scriptures who, at the
point of receiving any measure of grace on his or her life,
